Discover the History of the Order

Bretvins is a historical society that was founded in 1948. The Chevaliers Bretvins and the Dames de la Duchesse, with their customs and traditions, also participate in the development of tourism. The Order is headquartered at Chateau de la Fremoire in Vertou, a major centre of Nantes viticulture and the Nantes Wine Federation.

The Order's objectives is the development of products from Pays Nantais, of its cuisine and, particularly, of its great wines, the maintenance and re-establishment of its fêtes, customs and traditions of the old Breton folklore.

The activities of the Order include promoting the individual image of the wines of Nantes, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
